Pandeshwaram village, situated close to the Outer Ring Highway in Thiruvallur district, is a peaceable neighborhood surrounded by farmland, interconnected lake methods, conventional brick kilns, and a quiet setting that stands other than the noise and congestion of the town. Water our bodies play an important position on this space, as agriculture is the first livelihood. These water sources additionally help a wealthy number of native natural world.
Three vital ponds Kodivali Pond, Perumal Kovil Pond, and Kalignar Nagar Pond are situated round Pandeshwaram village. They function important rainwater catchment areas and act as sources of water for home use and agricultural actions. Moreover, they contribute to the native ecosystem by offering habitats for varied species and enhancing groundwater recharge.
Over time, attributable to neglect and lack of normal upkeep, all three ponds started to deteriorate. Rubbish and invasive weeds took over the peripheries, extreme silt deposits diminished their storage capacities, and the weakened embankments compromised their structural stability. These components considerably diminished their capacity to retailer water and help the encircling ecosystem.
In an effort to revive these invaluable water our bodies, E.F.I., in collaboration with the Tiruvallur District Administration and CAMS, initiated a complete restoration challenge.
