Congress leaders urge Karnataka govt to let Muslim workers depart places of work after 4 pm throughout Ramzan | Bangalore Information

After the governments in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh—led by the Congress and the NDA ally TDP, respectively—determined to permit Muslim workers to go away authorities places of work early for Iftar within the upcoming Ramzan month, Karnataka Congress vice-presidents A R M Hussain and Syed Ahmed have requested Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to situation the same directive.

In a letter written to Siddaramaiah on Thursday, the Congress leaders mentioned, “Because the month of Ramzan is approaching, the federal government of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana has already given permission to the workers working in authorities places of work to interrupt for Iftar at their properties after 4 pm as Muslims are fasting for one month throughout the month of Ramzan. Due to this fact, we hereby request you to kindly enable our Muslim authorities workers in Karnataka to interrupt for Iftar at their properties after 4 pm.”

Chatting with indianexpress.com, Hussain mentioned this was solely a request. “Finally it’s the authorities’s name. We welcome any resolution that the federal government takes. Since all of us will likely be fasting from March 2 to March 30, we’re requesting that Muslim authorities workers be allowed to go away an hour early for prayers and to interrupt their quick. The federal government can enable them to log in early to work at 9 am and depart after 4 pm, as an alternative of 10 am and 5 pm, for the mentioned days,” he added.

A February 17 order of the Telangana authorities allowed all “Authorities Muslim Workers/Lecturers/Contract/Out-sourcing/Boards/Companies & Public Sector Workers working within the State to go away their Places of work/Colleges at 4.00 pm throughout the month of Ramzan from March 2 to March 31”.
