Thane: Police have registered a case towards the administration of a pet boarding facility in Maharashtra’s Thane metropolis for allegedly manhandling two canine of a neighborhood resident, an official stated on Monday.
The guardian of the 2 canines – a golden retriever and a toy poodle – entrusted them to the pet care facility on December 26, 2024 as he and his spouse needed to journey overseas. The canine have been manhandled and crushed up on the pet care centre, leaving the toy poodle completely blind in a single eye and inflicting emotional trauma to the retriever, their guardian alleged.
Following his criticism and the intervention by a consultant of the Individuals for the Moral Remedy of Animals (PETA), the Vartak Nagar police right here on Sunday registered the case towards the pet facility’s administration underneath Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 325 (mischief by killing or maiming animals) and three(5) (prison act accomplished by a number of individuals in furtherance of the frequent intention of all) and provisions of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, the police added.
