AAP slams Delhi Police prohibitory order throughout Navratri, calls for its withdrawal

AAP chief Saurabh Bharadwaj on Tuesday (October 1, 2024) termed the Delhi Police’s prohibitory order in opposition to Navratri as “Tughlaqi Farman” and demanded its fast withdrawal.

The Delhi Police had on Monday issued a prohibitory order in opposition to any protests or gathering of 5 or extra individuals within the central and bordering areas of town for the following six days citing regulation and order points.

The order was issued beneath the part 163 (earlier part 144 of CrPC) of the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita.

Mr. Bharadwaj hit out at Lieutenant Governor V.Ok. Saxena and demanded his resignation, saying he was not capable of deal with the regulation and order of town.

“This order is laughable and irresponsible; it has been issued to ban the festivals of Hindus, create chaos and harass Delhi individuals,” the Delhi Minister stated.

When elections could be held in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana, then why cannot a pageant be held with out restriction, he requested.

Mr. Bharadwaj stated that even BJP leaders weren’t secure within the metropolis and cited an extortion message a pacesetter of the celebration in Uttam Nagar acquired.

AAP nationwide convener and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal in a publish on X stated that he was “very involved” over the “deteriorating” regulation and order state of affairs within the Nationwide Capital.
