The Symphony Orchestra of India (SOI), the nation’s solely full-time skilled orchestra, is about to captivate audiences with its extremely anticipated Spring 2025 Season, operating from January 25 to February 15, 2025. That includes the legendary Maestro Zubin Mehta and the debut of Sir Mark Elder, this season guarantees to be a monumental celebration of classical and operatic excellence.

Khushroo N. Suntook, Chairman of the Nationwide Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) and Co-founder of SOI, shared his enthusiasm:

“The SOI Spring 2025 Season guarantees to be a unprecedented celebration of music, with legendary conductors and distinctive soloists becoming a member of forces to ship a collection of unforgettable live shows… We invite the audiences across the nation to hitch us and witness the grand SOI Spring 2025 Season.”

Opening Night time

The season begins with Maestro Zubin Mehta conducting a masterful programme that includes Beethoven’s Leonore Overture No. 3, Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2—carried out by acclaimed pianist Alexander Gadjiev—and Dvořák’s Symphony No. 7. Chopin’s concerto, celebrated for its lyrical magnificence, guarantees to be a spotlight of the night.

Mrs. Mehroo Jeejeebhoy of the Mehli Mehta Music Basis expressed her pleasure:

“We’re certainly lucky in Mumbai to have a season of live shows arising with Maestro Zubin Mehta conducting masterpieces of the orchestral repertoire in 4 live shows with the Symphony Orchestra of India. The three programmes will embrace symphonies by Dvořák, Brahms, and Tchaikovsky, all people’s favorite Chopin Piano Concerto No. 2, and an Opera Gala with a stellar forged of singers.”

A Symphonic Masterclass

The second live performance presents Brahms’ Symphony No. 1 in C minor, recognized for its grandeur and triumphant finale, alongside Tchaikovsky’s dramatic and emotive Symphony No. 4 in F minor, a piece exploring themes of destiny and resilience. Maestro Mehta’s interpretation of those two masterpieces guarantees to be an unforgettable expertise.

On February 7 and 9, opera fanatics are in for a deal with with the Opera Gala. That includes excerpts from Bizet’s Carmen and Verdi’s La Traviata, the performances will carry collectively 200 musicians, together with Dwelling Voices Mumbai and The Singing Tree Choir from the Mehli Mehta Music Basis. Soloists Roberta Mantegna, Olesya Petrova, Luciano Ganci, and George Petean will add their voices to those timeless works.

Grand Finale

The season concludes with Sir Mark Elder, certainly one of Britain’s most esteemed conductors, main the orchestra in a programme that includes Beethoven’s revolutionary Symphony No. 3 (“Eroica”), together with Weber’s Overture to Oberon and Schumann’s Overture, Scherzo, and Finale.
